A bigger round canvas for your ESP32-P4 project: 800 × 800, ready on first boot.

When 480 × 480 starts to feel cramped, this is the step up. The ESP32-P4X AI Box drives a 3.4-inch round TFT at 800 × 800 over MIPI-DSI, with capacitive touch on I²C. That is more than two and a half times the pixels of a 2.8-inch 480 × 480 round screen, enough for fine dial markings, animated faces, live camera previews and readable text inside a circular frame.

The display flex connects straight to the board’s display connector. Plug it in, power up, and the circular UI is on screen, with no adapter board and no hand-written init sequence to hunt down.

The board behind it is built around the ESP32-P4X: dual-core RISC-V at up to 400 MHz, 32 MB PSRAM and 16 MB flash, with Wi-Fi 6 on dual-band 2.4/5 GHz through a companion ESP32-C5. A full 800 × 800 frame takes only about 1.3 MB in RGB565 (1.9 MB in RGB888), so double buffering fits comfortably in PSRAM. Camera input, a two-mic audio codec, stereo amplifiers, a MicroSD slot, USB 2.0 High-Speed and lithium-battery charging are all on the same board, so you can go from prototype to a working device without adding modules.

Key Features

  • 3.4" round, 800 × 800, 2.5× the pixels of our 2.8" kit. Sharper gauges, finer text and full-frame camera preview inside a circular aperture, with a 1:1 pixel grid and no cropped corners.
  • Board included: a complete ESP32-P4 development platform. 400 MHz dual-core RISC-V, 32 MB PSRAM, 16 MB flash, Wi-Fi 6, camera, audio, SD card, USB High-Speed and battery management on a single board.
  • Plug-and-play MIPI-DSI display connection. The panel’s flex connects directly to the board’s display connector, touch lines included. No adapter PCB or re-wiring.
  • Capacitive multi-touch built into the panel. I²C touch with INT and RST lines, tested with the supplied firmware and ready for LVGL.
  • On-device voice and vision. ESP-SR wake word and offline commands, and ESP-DL models on the AI-extended RISC-V cores, with two microphones already wired. No external NPU needed.
  • Camera, audio and motion sensing on board. MIPI-CSI camera input (SC2336 / OV2710), a codec with dual mics and stereo Class-D amplifiers, and a 3-axis accelerometer for tap and tilt gestures.
  • 300 nits IPS-class brightness for indoor devices. Suitable for desktop, wall-mount and handheld products. Higher-brightness versions available on request.
  • Battery-ready, USB-C powered. Lithium charging with power path, dual USB-C, and two M3 mounting holes for enclosure design.
